1. How do I become a member?

On the West Michigan Co-op homepage click on the link following “New User?” This will take you to a New Member Information form. Once you register you can begin shopping during the next shopping cycle. You will be required to pay the $35 user fee following a two month trial period.

2. How much does it cost to join?

The annual cost is $35, following a two month trial period.

3. Are the prices listed on the site exact prices?

Not necessarily. During non-ordering periods the prices listed reflect the costs from the previous shopping cycle. These can be referenced to give you an idea of how much things cost. Producers update their information for each new shopping cycle. Prices listed during the ordering period are exact, however a percentage will be added to your total order to help cover the cost of running the co-op (currently 5%).

4. What forms of payment are allowed?

Currently, the Coop can only accept cash, check, or money order. Checks need to be made out to “West Michigan Coop.”

5. What do I need to do to become a Producer?

If you are interested in selling items through the co-op, the first step is to become a member of the co-op. Once you are signed in as a member click on “Request Producer Privileges” (under User Member, Preferences) to download a producer application.

6. I live outside of the West Michigan area, can I join the co-op?

One of the main benefits of the co-op is that it is local and serves the local farmers and consumers in our area. We encourage those who live outside of West Michigan to consider starting up their own co-op. In the meantime you are welcome to shop with us, but please try to do so with a group of people from your community.

7. How do I place my order?

All items that are in your basket at the close of the ordering window are automatically ordered. There is no “submit” button.

8. How do I place an order for something that says “Available by Special Order Only?”

Contact the producer directly. Their contact information can be found on the website.

9. What happens if I have a scheduling conflict and can't come to pick up my items?

If you cannot make the designated day/time, you must contact the WM Co-op before the end of the pickup time (8pm on pick up day) by email by email or call (616) 248–0760 to arrange a time for pick-up at Media Rare within the next two business days (between 9am-5pm on the first business day and between 9am-3:30pm on the second business day).

The following penalty will apply: $5 late pickup fee

If you do not arrange a late pickup ahead of time, your items will either be sold to another customer or taken home by the producer. This is bad for all involved – the producers lose the sale, and may be stuck with product they cannot sell elsewhere, and you don't get your goods!

10. What happens if I forget to pick up my items?

If you fail to pick up your order during the designated pick-up day/time your items will either be sold to another customer or taken home by the producer. This is bad for all involved – the producers lose the sale, and may be stuck with product they cannot sell elsewhere, and you don't get your goods!

11. What should I do if I'm missing an item from my pick-up?

If you realize that you have forgotten an item from your order please contact the WM Co-op by email or call (616) 248–0760 to arrange a time for pick-up at Media Rare within the next two business days (between 9am-5pm on the first business day and between 9am-3:30pm on the second business day). No penalties apply but any items left after two business days will be donated.

12. What should I do if I am not satisfied with an item I purchased?

Please contact the producer directly. You can find all producer contact information on our website. As a courtesy, we ask that you please email us. to let us know of the situation and how the producer resolved the issue.

13. Can I contact a producer directly if I have any questions or comments?
